Sidney C. Tricell, Sr., 81, of Rutland, died on April 27, 2024, at Rutland Regional Medical Center. He was born in Middlebury on January 29, 1943, the son of Elsie T. Emilo. He married Nancy J. Allen in Middlebury on August 3, 1963. He found great joy in his family, baking his “famous” cheesecakes and tinkering. Some may remember him serving them while he bartended at the Amber Clown or Bardwell House. After more than 20 years of industrial maintenance he retired from Bouyea-Fassetts Bakery. Surviving are his daughter, Traci Barrett (David Cooke) of Colorado and her children Thomas and Cidni, his namesake; two sons, Sidney “Chuck” Tricell, Jr. (Dawn) of Florida and their children Kyle (Calli) and Kolby (Sarah), and Jody Tricell (Kristie Landon) of Rutland whom he made his home with; step-daughter Debbie Wissell (Richard) of Hinesburg and her children Phelicia and Timothy; and several great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Nancy in 2006; two sisters, Sandra Emilo, and Gloria Howard; a stepson Alan “Tim” Reynolds, and a grandson Joshua Tricell. A graveside service will be held in Evergreen Cemetery on Monday, May 6, 2024 at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers and donations, it is Sid’s sincerest wish that each of you enjoy the activity that makes you the happiest. Arrangements are under the direction of Clifford’s Funeral Home.
