Stanley Strusinski - Rutland

Stanley "Sonny" Strusinski, 80, of Rutland, passed away November 28th, 2023 at the Rutland Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Yonkers New York, the son of Stanley Strusinski and Jane (Sikorski) Strusinski.

Stanley is survived by his wife Paula and his children Todd (Christine) Strusinski of Truckee, CA, Lori (Richard) Burbank of Lowell, MA, Evan of Camden, ME, and Tyler of Boston, MA.

Granddaughters' Amelia , Sonny Mae and Autumn Strusinski of California.

Sisters Estelle (Don) Scaiano of Naples, FL, Paula (Victor) Golio of Dobbs Ferry, NY and many cherished nieces and nephews and their children.

Stan attended Saint Kasmir's school in Yonkers, NY, Capishan Franciscan seminary in Garrison, NY, and high school in Yonkers, NY as well as Westchester community college.

After working a corporate role for Nabisco and Johnsons Wax in New York, Stan followed his passion for serving the community and moved to Vermont to join the Vermont State Police, and ran the first training program at the Police Academy in Pittsford, VT.

During his career with State Police, Stan worked in the states drug enforcement task force.

Following state police, Stan was a detective for the States' Attorney office of Rutland, VT and later the Attorney General's office in Montpelier, VT.

From his early childhood Stan had a passion for art, painting many watercolor pictures in his adult life, and often called upon to provide composite sketches for investigations.

Stan loved his family more than life itself.

There will be a mass Saturday December 9th at 11:00 at Christ the king church, and celebration of life after at the Moose Lodge 1122 on Center Street in Rutland, VT.
