Stephen E. Bernier

Stephen E. Bernier, 72, of Rutland passed away August 29, 2024 at The Pines of Rutland.

He was born in Proctor, February 27, 1952 the son of Joseph and Leona (Trombly) Bernier.

Stephen was employed as a corrections officer with VT Department of Corrections and more recently with Rutland Area Visiting Nurse Assn.

Survivors include his wife Rita (Russell) Bernier of Rutland, son Stephen (Lynn) Bernier, Jr. of TN, daughter Mary Bernier, daughter Rita Marie Lawrence, sister Dorothy Wyatt of NC, 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by 3 brothers Richard Bernier, Phillip Bernier, and Joseph Bernier

Visiting hours will be held Monday, September 9, 2024, from 12:00 to 2:00pm with a prayer service at 2:00pm. Burial will follow in St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Pittsford.

Arrangements are under the direction of Clifford Funeral Home.
