Theodore Kuc, II "Ted" passed away March 3rd, 2026 at Rutland Regional Hospital Medical Center following a long illness.
Ted was born to Theodore and Rita Kuc in Holyoke, Massachusetts on May 2, 1951 He graduated from Holyoke High School and Northampton Junior College. He also attended the New England School of Pharmacy. While going to school, Ted worked for and managed a couple of grocery stores: Big Y Supermarket in Northampton, and Pathmark General in Chicopee Mass. In 1975 he married the love of his life, Sandy, and they enjoyed 50 years of marriage. Together, they had 5 children and 5 grandchildren.
Pursing the love of skiing, Ted and Sandy moved to Vermont in 1977. In Vermont he continued his work at Finast supermarket and later became manager of Rex TV and appliance, Dollar General, and Clarendon Springs general store.
Ted was a loyal and hard worker and someone who firmly believed that "when you do a job, you get it done right". Ted had a definite skill for being a witty guy, but he also had a no-nonsense approach to everyday life, and before tackling any projects he always made sure he knew what he was doing. Ted loved working with his hands and for the last 45 years he devoted himself to cutting and splitting wood to keep the fires burning in his wood stove. He was a jack of all trades and known as "Mr. fix it" Over the last 8 years one of his favorite projects was remodeling a family home in Massachusetts to which he traveled to almost every weekend which he was able to complete just a few months ago.
Ted was a Baby Boomer from the old school. He loved the beach and rock n roll music. His long awaited goal was to go to a Rolling Stones concert which he did in 2015. He also relished a nice cold beer as he watch his favorite football team, the New England Patriots. He also devoted 20 years to our community as a foster parent.
Ted said "I've had a good life" He was man who liked dogs, and he was kind to all of his pets. Ted was a go to guy and he was always willing to help where needed.
Ted is survived by his wife Sandy, his children Ciara, Vera, and Kyle Kuc, his grandchildren Amelia, Avery, Zahara, Tyson, and Luka, as well as his son-in-law Kade Rogers. He was predeceased by his beloved daughter Lindsay, as well as his unborn child Camryn.
