In Loving Memory of Theresa Shanahan McGee

With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to a cherished mother, daughter, sister, and friend, Theresa Shanahan McGee who was called into the arms of Our Lord. Theresa's unwavering love, infectious laughter, and giving spirit touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Born to Michael and Katherine (O’Shea) Shanahan, on February 28th, 1973 Theresa brought warmth and joy into their lives from the very beginning. The family spent many summers abroad on the O’Shea family farm in Ireland. Theresa was proud of her Irish heritage and passed on those wonderful memories and traditions to her children, who she recently brought to Ireland.

Theresa is a third-generation graduate of Mount Saint Joseph Academy. She attended Castleton State College which prepared her for her career as a Senior Insurance Advisor for 28 years. Theresa found joy in music, whether singing at church or playing clarinet with the Rutland City Band. She had 3 beautiful children, they were her pride and joy. She shared with them her love of dance, singing, reality TV and a great manicure. She was so proud of their education, their accomplishments, and their ambitions.

Theresa is survived by her beloved parents, Michael and Katherine; her sister, Maureen, and brother-in-law John; her cherished children, Shea, Roahan, and Tessa; son-in-law, Brandon; and her precious granddaughter, Darragh. She will also be remembered fondly by her cousins and numerous friends whose lives she touched with her warmth and kindness.

Calling hours will take place on Monday March 18th from 4 to 6 pm at Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland. A funeral mass will be held at St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Tuesday March 19th at 11 am with reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Tessa's Education Fund, a cause close to Theresa's heart, ensuring her legacy of love and support continues to flourish in the education of her beloved daughter.
