Thomas C.  Harte Sr.  (Chuckwagon) passed away on February 12, 2024 at the age of 85.
He was born in West Rutland on December 20, 1938 to the late John and Rose Mary (O’Rourke) Harte
He was a graduate of West Rutland School class of 1956 where he played football, Basketball and Baseball.
Soon after graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army. Upon returning home, he worked for Shortle Motors in Rutland. Not long after that, he became an employee of the West Rutland Post Office where he retired after many years of service. During his time at the Post Office he had been interviewed by Yankee Magazine where there was a story and picture of him during Vermont's infamous mud season.
In 1961 he married Linda (Benham) Harte on February 4, 1961 who predeceased him December 4, 2004.

Tom was very active in his community. He spent countless hours with The West Rutland Little League. He was always lending a helping hand to family and friends.
Tom was very proud of his Irish Heritage. He loved to dance, especially to Polkas. He liked the Red sox and when he wasn’t helping someone you could find him on the golf course at Proctor-Pittsford where he was a member and in his earlier days, he golfed at Bomoseen. He also enjoyed bowling where he was on teams at The Colonial Lanes and The Bowlerama. He was a big 45 player and one of his most favorite pastimes, going to the Casinos and loved going on family camping trips to Maine.
Tom was a member of St Bridgets Church, West Rutland School Alumni , West Rutland American Legion Post 87 and the Moose Club 1122.
Survivors include his Kids Mary Harte McFarren, Kimberly Conway, Cathy Miles(Jim), Tom Harte(Debbie), Tim Harte(Tammy), Michele Bradley(Eric).
Grandkids Jessica Galiano(Chad), Jordan & Sara Miles, Tyler(Steph) Harte, Amanda Harte, Kristian & Dakota McFarren(Madie), Jefferey and Mathew Harte, Lyndsey & Robyn Bradley.
Sisters Ree Herbert, Joan Keefe. Many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by His parents, His wife Linda, his brother Mike, nephew Rourke, daughter in law Michelle Pawlusiak Harte, His in laws Bill & Ruth Benham;
Calling Hours will be held from 4 to 6 pm Thursday February 15 at Clifford Funeral Home in Rutland

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30am Friday February 17 at St Bridget’s Church in West Rutland.. Reception to follow at West Rutland Legion. Burial will be at a later date in the spring.
