William Murray

William Murray, 82, died Friday, July 8, 2016 at Rutland Regional Medical Center in Rutland, VT. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he spent his years in New Haven, CT, before moving to Vermont in 1962. Bill, as he was known, served 2 years in the U.S. Army in France during the Korean War. Receiving his B.A. degree at Castleton College in Vermont, he started his teaching career in the Rutland Public School system as a special education teacher, later to become a third grade teacher at Northwest School. Bill is survived by his 3 children, Stephen, Peter and Karen, his grandchild Kevin, and former wife, Marion Murray. Details are forthcoming regarding a memorial service to be held in the fall.
